Just Another Normal Day

We started our day with coffee on the porch. Anytime the weather is above 50, it's warm enough for us.

Hubby needed a side dish so I made him his fav sweet-sour cabbage slaw. Cutting it thin on the mandolin allows the cabbage and onion to be absorbed by the liquid faster. (equal parts sugar, white vinegar, and water with salt and pepper) I cooked the left over chunks of cabbage with bacon grease for my side dish.

I finally finished my pantry organizer. It still pulls in the middle after I put a dowel on the bottom and above the bottom pocket (see the arrow). Too much weight, but that is fine. It accomplishes my goal, a more organized pantry.

My next craft is going to be interesting. I am making rugs for the bathroom. The cheap ones I buy just don't last. This one is with bulky yarn and a size 25 crochet hook. You would think this would take less time....haha. I have to pull the yarn over the hook each time. The bulky yarn is 100% polyester and the accent smaller red yarn is acrylic. I chose this color combinations because I have towels that are the same colors.  It's a first for me. Boy is it soft. If I need something under it so it wont slip I will get it. I need three of these. Two for the sink areas and one for the toilet. The second bathroom will have a different color. I believe I will be using the beige and olive green skeins up for one rug. Hobby Lobby had the yarn 30% off. When complete I will put up a pic
