I compared three stores with my local Aldi's store. Kroger, Heb and even Walmart were higher. Some things in Walmart like sugar and a couple other things were pretty darn close. Even so, not enough to justify shopping there.
I have an excel sheet set up for Aldi's and enter a new column each time I shop there. Since we live farther away now I tend to shop for two weeks. They don't normally have sales. Their prices are low enough.
Aldi stores are not everywhere, but should be. They are a sister company to Trader Joes. The two brothers had different ideas on what a store should have. Both stores have one thing in common. They both PAY CASH for inventory, unlike other stores who order, get a invoice and pay later. This way they get lower prices in bulk. Check out 25 different things about Aldi.
Pro's:
*Small store in and out quickly
*They keep prices low
*Always clean
*All of the necessary produce needs and some household items. See ad.
Con's:
*Low inventory, one large delivery daily. So if you wanted something that might be on sale or a new product you might not get it after 12:00.
*You are not going to fine multiple brands for a lot of items. Example: They have two types of ketchup. One is organic and the other is not.
*You will be bagging your groceries
*Bring your shopping bags and quarter to get a grocery cart. You will get it back once you return the cart.
